Unity and solidarity within the community is celebrated during the annual Taste of the Junction Multicultural Festival during Labor Day weekend.

The outdoor festival includes LIVE music, food trucks, arts, culture, crafts, and a kid fun zone. Crowds gather from West Des Moines and surrounding communities. Descendants of Historic Valley Junction travel from different parts of the country for this annual event.

The origin histories of Serbian, Mexican, and African Americans in Valley Junction have been curated, recorded, and published at the annual TOTJ Multicultural Festival.

Events are free and open to the public.
